What is AfriCAT?
AfriCAT develops computerised adaptive tests tailored to African adolescents, delivering precise, efficient screening and diagnosis to support stratified care and better outcomes.
Hypothesis: We believe that AfriCAT-DA will identify mental health concerns more reliably and do so in a shorter timeframe than the standard questionnaires currently used.

Why it matters
Adolescence is a critical period of development. Yet depression and anxiety often go undetected. In Africa, mental healthcare services often remain under-resourced, and there many available tests lack normative data for African populations, which is critical to ensure accurate mental health diagnosis.
